Simon Construction needed all-weather protection, full exterior access and an efficient means to transport materials at height during this central Christchurch apartment repair.
Located in the heart of Christchurch, the Cambridge Apartments is a residential complex made up of four blocks. Main contractor, Simon Construction, was tasked with completing extensive earthquake repairs to the entire complex including roof and crack repair, earthquake strengthening and exterior painting.
Upright was asked to design a solution that provided flexible access for teams, tools and materials, to all levels of the exterior. This included providing all weather access to the steeply-pitched south block while its roof was reclad.
It was a busy site with multiple sub-contractors, and it required seamless communication between Upright and Simon Construction’s Site Manager, Jeff Cooper.
Take a look on site and what Jeff has to say about working with Upright on the project in the short video.
